Apple today seeded the release candidate of an upcoming iOS 27.2 update to developers for testing purposes, with the update coming a week after Apple released the fourth iOS 27.2 beta. Apple also seeded the iPadOS 27.2 RC.
Registered developers can download the beta updates by opting in under Settings > General > Software Update and selecting the iOS 27 developer beta.
The beta was used to test the new iOS 27 Health app, but the features have since been removed and will be coming in a later update. It expands Siri AI to new languages including French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish.
There are now profiles for the Apple TV app, Call Context supports anniversary alerts, and Apple Music has a new icon. The update also supports an alternative expanded prompt for App Tracking Transparency in the European Union.
Apple previously said the new Siri AI languages in iOS 27.2 would be available in October, so we are expecting iOS 27.2 to see a public launch before the end of the month. With the RC out, the update could come next week.

After releasing iOS 27 last week, Apple is already testing a follow-up iOS 27.0.1 update for iPhones, according to MacRumors logs.
iOS 27.0.1 will likely be a minor update with bug fixes and/or security patches.

Apple added a new iPhone Handoff feature to iOS 27 that allows you to switch between two iPhones while using the same phone number on each device. T-Mobile and Deutsche Telekom are the first carriers to offer iPhone Handoff, and Apple said Verizon and EE will add support later this year, but AT&T is noncommittal about the feature.
A spokesperson for AT&T told CNET that the carrier sees...
I upgrade my beta last night and was bummed it was removed
Yeah, it's complete disappointment, these days Apple ships you a product with the advertised features shipped 6 months down the line or never at all. It's what Apple used to call out lesser companies for doing ironically, and they clearly haven't learnt the lesson from the Apple Intelligence fiasco. We have Apple Watch Series 12 launching with features on the watch that are missing from the health app (readiness score), and no audio intelligence either after they made such a big fuss of it (no great loss).
Customers don't understand or look at the fine print, they expect to have the software that sold them on the product. Seriously Apple hire more people, and start finishing software on time.
I hope they improve things because the whole iOS 27 release cycle has been as bad as iOS 26 🙁 Even the brand new 18 Pros stutters/lags regardless of the new vapor chamber.
That hasn't been my experience. Yes, it still needs some polish and refinement, but I'd say it's way better than 26 was. I'm using it on a 17 PM and not an 18, but I don't really have any stutters — nothing at all how iOS 26 was.
I'd argue slideover in 26/27 is better than 18. I held out until a week ago with my mini 6 and have to say the new slideover is just as easy and honestly more versitile. In many cases its easier to get all my windows organized since each has it's own traffic light controls. Biggest plus is resizeable slideover can become an almost fullscreen that vanishes as I need.
